Our money piece process
The appointment starts with a short consultation on your existing color, texture, and where the brightest pieces should sit for your face shape: standing, sitting, and looking down at a phone. We paint freehand, process under low heat, tone at the bowl, then cut, blow out and style. A gloss-only visit at the midpoint keeps the brightness fresh without redoing the lift.

Getting to 3rd Coast Salon from Bucktown
A rideshare from Holstein Park or the Damen and North area takes about 12 minutes. By transit, take the Blue Line from Damen to Clark/Lake and walk north to Erie. We are at 223 W Erie Street, Suite 1E, in River North.

If you want all-over highlights or a full balayage, a money piece is too small a service. If your hair is a dark single-process box dye, we may recommend pre-lightening or removal first. If you have never colored and want the first move to be dramatic, we will talk through whether a money piece will satisfy.
